Metronome
A steady click, tap tempo, and a visual pulse to lock in your sense of time
This page has two parts. The metronome above is a practice tool — set a tempo with the slider or tap it in by hand, choose a subdivision and whether beat 1 gets an accent, then press Start and play along. Below it are two training drills that test and build your internal sense of time: Tempo Memory, where you listen to a short sequence then tap it back from memory with no click to guide you, and Tempo Drift, where the click gradually speeds up or slows down and you have to keep tracking it for as long as you can.

Tempo Drift
A 4-beat count-in plays first, then the click gradually speeds up or slows down while you tap along. Fall too far outside the tempo at any point and the drill ends — see how long you can track the change.
