Between Strangers

Track 01 · Second Sight

Between Strangers opens the album on a rain-soaked platform, in that charged, fleeting moment when a stranger's glance suggests something more — a promise that never quite gets the chance to form before the train arrives and takes it away. Nothing is resolved. Nothing is spoken. Just a look held a beat too long, and then it's gone.

The refrain evolves quietly across each verse — follow, hear, feel, see — deepening the narrator's connection to the rain long after the platform has emptied. A song about recognition without resolution, and the ordinary places where it happens.

Sonus Lucis — Between Strangers

The heavens opened as I waited for my ride
Weary commuters held their distance platform-wide
A ghostly shimmer shouted the next train was delayed
Routine so worn as many days like this were made

Follow rain among the cracks,
Standing here beside the tracks

So many stories there, so many reasons why
I scanned the crowd and there you were, you caught my eye
Reflected the daily sadness we all faced
There was a glint of freedom when you held my gaze

Hear the rain among the cracks,
Standing here beside the tracks

Something more than just a glance had fixed my stare
A promise waiting to be made was in the air
Shattered focus with the monster rolling in
Fractured thoughts for me, a dream that couldn't win

Feel the rain among the cracks,
Standing here beside the tracks

In the rain you were swallowed by an open mouth
With the banshee shriek, the beast moved slowly out
My daydream shattered as the cracks beneath my feet
The platform bare where you stood for just a beat

See the rain among the cracks, (ahh ahh ahhhhh)
Standing here beside the tracks, (ahh ahh ahhhhh)
See the rain among the cracks, (ahh ahh ahhhhh)
Standing here beside the tracks
