I Love Her As It Says

Track 02 · First Light

I Love Her As It Says is one of the most personal pieces on the album. Born from a line hallucinated by Suno AI — “I love her as it says” — the song took on a life far deeper than its accidental origin suggested.

Structured in three movements rather than a traditional verse and chorus, it traces the arc of a love tested to its absolute limit. The narrator observes the performance of normality from the outside, the cracks appearing beneath, and finally the raw truth of exhaustion and commitment. The recurring line functions as both declaration and defence — repeated often enough, it becomes an act of will rather than feeling.

Built on an improvised musical foundation generously provided by synthesiser artist James Dyson, the song closes with a quiet, circular outro that refuses resolution — just as life itself often does. A deeply human piece about the choice to hold on.

Sonus Lucis — I Love Her As It Says

From the outside looking in
The King and queen are still ruling
No matter what the weather
It's just ourselves we're fooling
Hold the dignity of contract
As if it were a painting
Keep the paparazzi out
'Cos I love her as it says

We're a creeping horror movie
I watch it over in my mind
It was such a great beginning
In the ending we'll unwind
The script it leaves us wanting
I'm having trouble with my lines
Directions disappearing
But I love her as it says

Now I'm picking over fallout
There's no bomb there to be found
I see the pieces of the wreckage
But no reconstruction is allowed
I can't help but be pulled under
With the weight of all the years
Still I hold on to a promise
I love her as it says

I love her as it says (Hold On)
(It says)
I love her as it says (Hold On)
(It says)
I love her as it says (Hold On)
(It says)
I love her as it says (Hold On)
